Tribe run
Midweek miles with your tribe.
Runners, joggers and walkers in local tribes across the city. We meet every Saturday at 6:30 AM, run 5 km or more together, and nobody gets left behind.
Every tribe runs together, then we hang out. Bring a friend.
Every pace
Slide to the pace you usually run or walk. Fast, slow or somewhere in between, someone in LRI is moving at it on Saturday.
The sweet spot for most Saturday groups.
Schedule
Your tribe posts the meeting point, route and time in its group before every run.
Midweek miles with your tribe.
Easy runs, tempo and track sessions.
5 km and up from your tribe’s meeting point.
Every tribe runs together as one community, then we hang out.
Tribes
Your tribe is your local crew, with its own leaders, its own group chat and its own Saturday route.
Rough directions from the city centre. Not to scale.
Runs from the Barracks gate, the second gate after Ojurin. The barracks keeps a lane for runners on weekends, so the road is calm and safe.
Loops past Bodija Market, Sango and the Secretariat. Hosted September’s community hangout from Osuntokun.
Home of the Thursday track session. On one July morning, more than 10 runners here set new 5K and 10K personal records.
The south side tribe. Sets up carpools so members can get to community runs on the other side of the city.
One runner, one tribe. Join one home tribe’s group chat, then run with any tribe, any week.
Routes
Three routes from this year’s community runs. Each one is a loop, so you finish where you started.
2026 so far
Some Saturdays are bigger than a run. We use our kilometres to raise awareness, back good causes and bring the city out together.
Six days to log 21 km, then a city run on 15 August in a touch of green. Every registration helped provide inhalers for people living with asthma.
21 kmin 6 days
Run & Rave, a flag football scrimmage and a prostate cancer awareness talk at The Law Hub.
Every tribe at The Law Hub to close out the month, then the community hangout.
A community run, then the padel courts at a discounted LRI rate.
Interviews, photos and a group shot for the International Day for Women and Girls of African Descent.
All tribes from The Law Hub through Molete, Dugbe and Eleyele.
5K and 10K loops from Osuntokun, then fruit, water and gist.
First run
You don’t need to be fast, and you don’t need to run the whole way. You just need to show up.
Walking is allowed. Nobody has to keep up with the fastest runners.
A leader stays with the last runner, so the whole group finishes together.
Runs start at 5 km and often go further. Most routes have a shorter loop, so you can stop at 5 km.
Stretching, gist and a group photo. This is where most LRI friendships start.
5 to go. Tick them off as you pack.
Beyond the run
Birthday this month? You get a shout-out, a birthday sash and your birthday kilometres with your tribe.
Board games, padel, picnics and flag football. Bring a game, a snack and a friend.
A quarterly virtual challenge where LRI competes on the club leaderboard. Run or walk from 75 km, or cycle from 800 km. See the tiers
Sell zobo, drinks or snacks? Small businesses can sell at our bigger hangouts, and formal vendor spots are on the way.
